Mereside Farm : Six cottage-style apartments in the heart of Shropshire’s lake district, on the edge of the pretty market town of Ellesmere.
Mereside Farm was originally part of the Duke of Westminster’s estate, and whilst the farmhouse dates back to the 1770s, The Shippon - originally a milking parlour - was built in 1904, before being lovingly converted into guest accommodation in 2007.
These three cottage-style apartments sleep from one to four people, each having a mini-kitchen (with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster), space to unwind (with comfy tub chairs, TV / DVD, table and chairs), one or two bedrooms (with quality bedding, sprung mattresses, radio-alarm, wardrobe and hairdryer) and en-suite bath or shower rooms (with heated towel rails and large fluffy bath sheets). There’s under-floor heating and free wi-fi too. In addition, we supply a complimentary selection of toiletries, fresh milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits.
Outside, there is a pretty south-facing walled garden (with swing-seat, benches, tables and chairs), ample free parking and a lock-up for cycles. Dogs are welcome (throws, dog towel and water bowl are provided).
The award-winning Stokes’ pork pies are also hand-made, in small batches, on the farm. They are available in a range of delicious flavours, so why not place an order before your stay?
