Ideally located, Mereside Farm is only half a mile from the small market town of Ellesmere where you will find a variety of shops, pubs and takeaways.
The farmland is surrounded by The Mere (Lake) and the Llangollen and Shropshire Union Canal - towpath on our side! The beautiful hilltop views overlook the Marina and the Welsh Hills beyond. You can take country walks from the doorstep making it possible to enjoy, firsthand, the surrounding area of woods, fields, meres and canals and the variety of bird and wildlife.
Explore the area by foot or boat, bicycle, car or bus - they pass the farm gate. Mereside Farm is perfectly situated for visiting numerous castles, gardens, towns and attractions. See our Locale and Links page for more information.
Walkers, cyclists, families and dogs are all provided for: including alarmed lock-up for cycles, laundry and drying facilities, high chairs and cots. There are maps, leaflets and books of the local area on hand.
For those on business there is free internet access and space to work.
Handmade sausages and pork pies are made on the premises by Stokes of Ellesmere and guests are welcome to place any orders (before and during their stay).
Packed lunches are available (with notice) so why not try one of our award-winning pork pies for your picnic?
Our homemade, handmade sausages are a part of the full farmhouse breakfast served in the Farmhouse, along with locally-produced butter, bacon and eggs.
